Kristin Cavallari Proudly Shows Off Results of 2-Year Renovation at the 130-Acre Nashville Estate Where She Lives With Her Kids

Reality television veteran Kristin Cavallari has been candid about appreciating the opportunity to have a “complete fresh start” after offloading her “divorce house” in March 2025—but she wasn’t actually looking for a new property when she stumbled upon the sprawling Tennessee estate she now calls home.

The podcast host opened her doors to Architectural Digest to share a look at her dreamy new dwelling, revealing she couldn’t resist investing in the new place when a real estate agent friend encouraged her to come take a look.

“I completely fell in love with it,” she said of the one-story home, which sits on a 130-acre plot of land just outside of Nashville. “I loved that it’s really private. I loved how open it is with the floor-to-ceiling windows.”

The abode is large enough to include an indoor basketball court and a podcast studio, but the “Laguna Beach” alum insists it’s easy to maintain.

“The house is really manageable, which is important, because it’s just me and the kids.”

Cavallari is mom to sons Camden, 14 and Jaxon, 12, and daughter Saylor, 10, whom she welcomed with ex-husband, former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, before the couple split in April 2020.

Their divorce was finalized in 2022, and in the process, the couple sold the Nashville mansion they shared for $3.7 million in 2020—which was 30% less than the $5.3 million they bought it for in 2012, and 53% less than the optimistic asking price of $7.9 million.

It was a busy year for real estate transactions. Cavallari purchased a four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom Nashville home for $3 million in the same month she and Cutler announced they’d be heading separate ways.

To ensure the abode was “exactly” what she “wanted aesthetically,” Cavallari hired longtime friend and interior designer, April Tomlin, to create a gorgeous “grounding” space, adorned with peaceful neutral tones and bright white interiors.

Cavallari teamed up with Tomlin once again when it came time to get to work on her current home, telling Architectural Digest she gave her friend “free rein to do whatever she wants” with full confidence that it was “going to be amazing.”

The vibe is quite similar to the calming interiors Cavallari loved in her previous home. In fact, there wasn’t much work to be done; she used most of the furniture from her “divorce house” and had very little to update in the new space.

“I loved everything down to the light fixtures,” she said. “So there wasn’t a lot design-wise I wanted to change.”

“A no-fuss home that still feels warm and cozy was our top priority,” said Tomlin, whose work across projects tends to feature muted and earthy tones.

While the aesthetic hasn’t changed much from one home to the next, Cavallari and her three children are enjoying the expansive space and convenient layout of their new home. It’s been described as a “one-stop-shop,” boasting all the amenities the family needs to go about their lives.

“I’ve tried to set it up so that I’m not running around constantly,” said Cavallari. “The less often I have to leave my house, the better.”

With the home’s remote location, one change that felt “worth it” was the addition of a home gym, saving Cavallari a 25-minute drive each way to streamline her mornings.

She also added a bath tub and doubled the size of her closet, creating the perfect space to store the clothing collection that inspired the interior design of her home.

Her boys love basketball, so the property’s barn was converted to their own home court.

The guesthouse got a functional upgrade, too, transforming to a recording studio for “Let’s Be Honest,” the podcast that landed Cavallari a seven-figure deal with Dear Media.

Another notable addition? Cavallari’s new tranquil pool, which Basin Pool Designs owner, Nick Buchholz, created with a goal of creating “a sense of calm” to avoid “delineation between the pool and the rest of the house.”

The efforts to create a restful residence have clearly paid off, with Cavallari noting the unprecedented pride she feels for her home.

Coming home from a late-night dinner recently, the media personality had a moment of reflection.

“I sat at my kitchen countertop and looked outside and felt really proud and really grateful,” she shared. “I was just like, I can’t believe I was able to make this happen. I’ve never felt that before as far as a house goes.”
